About us: a travel agency for family hotels in Sultanahmet
Istanbul Family Otel is a travel agency, not a hotel. We select family-friendly hotels in Sultanahmet and the historic peninsula of Istanbul (Fatih district) and handle bookings by chat on WhatsApp and Telegram. We currently list 2 hotels.
Why only Sultanahmet?
Getting around is the biggest challenge for families with children. Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, Topkapı Palace and Gülhane Park are only minutes apart on foot. By focusing on one area we know each hotel, street and distance well and can give families clear information.
How we select hotels
A hotel is listed only if it meets all of these criteria:
- In the historic peninsula, within walking distance of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque
- Family rooms for at least 3–4 people or connecting rooms
- Baby cots and arrangements suitable for families with children
- A high Google rating backed by many real reviews
- Direct contact between our reservations team and the hotel
Room types, capacities, bed layouts and family features on hotel pages are based on information from the hotels and are updated when they change. Prices are “from” prices; the exact price for your dates and party size is given in writing on WhatsApp.
How we show Google ratings and reviews
- Each hotel page shows its Google rating, total review count and recent Google reviews.
- We do not edit, shorten or hide negative reviews; they are shown as written, with author and date. Hotel pages link to “See all reviews on Google”.
- Google data is taken from the hotel’s Google Maps listing. Once the Google Places API connection is enabled, the site refreshes automatically every night at 04:00 (Istanbul time).
- The Google rating is not our own rating; it is labelled “Google data” on our pages.
How booking works
- Tap the WhatsApp (or Telegram) button on a hotel or room page and send your dates, the number of adults and children, and the children’s ages.
- Our reservations team checks availability with the hotel and sends you the available rooms, price, payment method and cancellation terms in writing.
- You read the terms and confirm. Nothing is booked without your confirmation; there is no payment and no card details on the website.
- Your confirmation arrives in the same chat. Requests such as transfers, baby cots or connecting rooms are handled in that chat too.
